There's no free log analysis project of comparable scale to Apache. But there are a few good free tools that I'm aware of:

• Analog
• Webalizer
• http-analyze

None are RDBMS driven or otherwise capable of distilling data into smaller chunks we can query on an ad-hoc basis but for many purposes, these tools will adequate produce useful results.

Yahoo and other directories have extensive lists of log analysis tools as well.
